No-Sew Upcycling: Giving New Life to Old T-Shirts presented as a part of the 2026 NJ State Teen Arts Festival

Description: For teens. Get hands-on experience upcycling your old, unwanted t-shirts into something new– all without a sewing machine. Using simple cutting and knot tying techniques, you’ll learn about the many ways you can transform something you no longer wear into something new-to-you and useful. Some examples of potential projects include: turning t-shirts into: bags, crop tops, tank tops, shirts with decorative cut-outs, and fitted shirts with knotted details. Drop-in anytime during workshop hours to learn a new skill and take your creation home with you. T-shirts and all supplies will be provided, though you are welcome to bring an old t-shirt of your own, if you like. Suitable for crafters of all levels.
